Big Island of Hawaii Visitor Information
Mahalo (thank you) for checking out our information on the Big Island. It IS the BIG Island. Of the approximately 6,000 square miles that make up the entire Hawai'ian Islands, about 4,000 of those miles are comprised of the BIG ISLAND itself!
WHERE DO PEOPLE WHO LIVE IN HAWAII GO ON VACATION ANYWAY?
ANSWER: We don't need to. People ask the most is do we ever get "rock fever" living on the Big Island all year? Speaking for us, never! There is way too much to do and the weather is too great. We find that people who move here typically do so because they like being outdoors, and they usually have one or two things they like doing the best and stick to those things. So even if you got bored doing what you like best, there are endless other things to do and discover. It never gets boring. Opportunities for adventure and relaxation abound on the Big Island of Hawai'i. We look forward to sharing our Island with you and hope it becomes as dear to you as it has to us.
Kailua-Kona is your gateway to the Big Island of Hawaii with Kailua International Airport offering direct flights to and from the mainland and the other Hawai'ian Islands. With warm tropical breezes, turquoise waters, and golden sands Kona offers something for everyone. Get ready!
